Our Vestry

The Vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. At Grace, there are currently nine vestry members, each serving for a term of three years. Vestry members are elected at the annual parish meeting which is held each year in January. The treasurer and the clerk are non-voting members of the Vestry.

In this time in the life of the Church, when laity and clergy are recognizing the benefits of shared leadership, the Vestry is called to work collaboratively with fellow vestry members and the rector to create a vision and plan of action that reflects God’s path for the congregation. It means cultivating congregation-wide conversations about where God is calling your faith community. It means balancing your role in discerning God’s mission and vision with sound leadership of its property and resources.

The Senior Warden leads the parish in the absence of the Rector and serves as the support person for the Rector. The Junior Warden is “the people’s” warden and brings concerns of the parish and the properties before the Vestry.

The Vestry has a regularly scheduled meeting on the fourth Thursday each month except July and August. July and August meetings may be held if there is a need.
